The Sunken Sea Giants
They wandered the lands of old, towering titans slowly sliding through time. Beings that brushed the clouds, colossal kings whose steps shaped the lands. Early mankind cast an eye upon them. Wanting to seize power they looked to cast down the walking gods. Tidal waves of blood poured over the land, corpses tens of kilometers long crushed the earth as they fell. Ancient battles left rotting corpses from which nature exploded. Entire forests, valleys and mountains have burst into existence from the remains of these beings.
With time numbers dwindled, the evolution of man was far faster. Soon spear and bow became horse and gunpowder. The giants found themselves facing an enemy far greater than themselves. Evolution. With the population numbering in the hundreds they descended back into the depths.
Feet brushing the ocean floor they escaped to lands in which humanity could not easily follow. They all split off, closing eyes for eternal slumber. Thousands of years have passed since then, myths and legends of the sea giants are usually told to scare children in fishing villages.
Something has started to happen, lately rumours amongst fisherman have sprouted up of islands creaking and cracking, slowly shuffling and waking. Something has woken the last of the sea giants.
